i played this game few mins today and it was good, works quite good with my graphic card (i will still change it soon)
but like all battlefiled games there are few bugs and server porblems at the begining, so u have to wait few weeks for them to fix all those problems

been reading some of the steam forums...

"Windows 7 32-bit
Core 2 Duo E8500 Intel 3.2 GHz
Nvidia GTX 560
4 GB RAM
1920 x 1080

Running very smoothly at medium. Can go high, but I choose not to. "

some guys spec for running the game lol.

read a few guys had dual cores and running the game fine on medium. Reading on to see if anyone has a HD5570. did see someone had a HD5870.

And January is nto that far jesus you make it sound like its a few years away. Its less than 3 months away. I didnt get BC2 till 3/4 months after it came out.

You honestly don't think that 5570 and 5870 are in the same league do you? 5870 is actually stronger than 6870. Most likely somewhere between 6870 and 6950. They stopped making them due to the high manufacturing costs. I say buy 6950, and use that q6600 of yours that you have. If i had more ram, my game would run really smooth. Infact single player doesnt need as much ram and the game runs really smooth. I'd say 60fps +

but then i have to buy a different motherboard. Is the Q6600 is not the same chipset as the i5 2500k. So there is no point me worrying about the Q6600. I will just sell it.

Wait did i miss something here? You already have the mobo that supports q6600. Isn't it why you bought it in the first place? Just saying you could use it untill january to play battlefield 3. I know i would.

I have a btx case with a btx layout motherboard. Yes i have Q6600, i would need a PSU, yes i have just bought one. But it wouldnt fit in the case i have currently. I cant get a new case cos the motherboard is different from an ATX one. So thats why im starting from scratch and getting everything i need for a normal ATX case. I will sell the Q6600.

i only need to get motherboard, cpu and gpu. (Now i'm being told i need a 2gb card) which makes things much more expensive.

And from what im reading i'm better off waiting anyway. Besides, i'm in no rush. If i get it now i will be playing BF3 on my own anyway cos you lot play other stuff or play it at different times. So for now i'm cool with BC2.

Ah yes BTX complications. Thought your old motherboard would fit in that corsair case. Anyways better of waiting? Waiting for what? Yes don't buy a graphic card if you dont plan to use it immediately. Thats about it. And its for the price reasons.

Seems like nvidia is doing better in BF3 because of some anti aliasing issues with ATI cards.

And another even better test

They are everywhere. My offices here use Dell as their manufacturer of choice. And i guess cos people see them everywhere they get them. Plus not everyone knows how to build or knows that building your own is cheaper. So they get a well known pre-built system that they can get quickly.

Thats why i got it. But now i know better.

Its either Radeon 6950 or GeForce 560Ti. ATi (yeah i know AMD) seems like it had some driver issues with anti aliasing in bf3 hence the lower scores. New drivers were released yesterday anyway so i assume this has been fixed. Other than that, 6950 or 560Ti are similar in performance. It all depends on which camp you prefer. Why you aree getting those two recommended is because they offer most for the money. The fact that they can basically run BF3 on high says enough since BF3 right now is by far the most demanding game on the market. And its gonna stay that way for a while. If you can run the most demanding game on almost all eye candies on, then you are good to go for the next couple of years. Not to mention the fact that in the future when the prices significantly drop, you could pair it with another GTX560Ti / Radeon 6950 and get almost 100% performance boost. Thats how well BF3 and newer games scale with CrossfireX / SLI.
